Massive Tank Farms
Store & Distribute Petroleum Products
(1st / 2nd Quarter 2007)
Vecenergy
Logistics designs, builds and operates high-capacity port
terminals to store and distribute bulk petroleum and fuel
products.
South Florida Materials
Corp. at the Port of Palm Beach has six liquid asphalt tanks
with a heated capacity of nearly 200,000 barrels (8.4 million
gallons) to serve area asphalt contractors through two
truck-loading racks. A polymer unit will be added later this
year to provide polymer-modified asphalt for the growing number
of DOT projects requiring the blend.
Construction is well underway on two diesel tanks with a total
capacity of 150,000 barrels (6.3 million gallons), scheduled for
completion in the 3rd Quarter of 2007.
At Port Everglades in Ft. Lauderdale, Vecenergy Logistics is
building 11 petroleum tanks with a total capacity of 1.35
million barrels (56.7 million gallons). Set to open in late
2008, it will be the port’s second largest terminal, accounting
for a tenth of port capacity.
